What started as a teenage obsession with posters turned into a full-circle design role shaping one of the most recognised names in drum and bass.

Innovation Events have been running legendary drum and bass parties across the UK and Europe since the 90s. I joined them as a remote designer during a time when their visuals had lost some of their edge. As someone who used to collect their posters growing up, this was personal. A chance to bring their visual identity back to life.

I led design across a wide mix of outputs: posters, branding, stage visuals, merch, print campaigns, and motion. The pace was relentless. Each event had its own vibe and needed to land with energy, especially across their flagship overseas festivals in Amsterdam and Spain.

The challenge was about more than aesthetics. These campaigns had to communicate across cultures and stay loud in a crowded scene. It sharpened my instincts for how to design fast, at scale, and with clarity under pressure.

The creative direction I established helped carry the brand through a defining chapter, across some of Europe’s biggest DnB festivals. Although the company closed in 2023, the work still stands as a formative part of my journey — fast, high-pressure, and full of purpose.
